Next week on Casualty, the surgical team work to save Stevie, while Rida has a terrifying experience in the operating theatre and Indie breaks the rules to try and help Jan.
Here is our spoiler round-up of all the biggest moments coming up next week, in the latest episode of the current boxset ‘Internal Affairs’ – titled ‘Plan B’.
1. Stevie fights for survival

Next week’s episode takes place directly after the dramatic cliffhanger, where Stevie was told that she will need emergency surgery for the growing cyst on her ovary.
As Stevie prepares for her operation, she meets the team who will be performing her surgery – Russell, Nicole and Rida – then slips unconscious.

2. Russell makes a decision

While Russell plans to complete a simple keyhole surgery, Stevie’s case proves much more complicated, and the team have to convert to a midline incision.
It is discovered that the cyst is attached to Stevie’s bowel and surrounds her pelvic organs, plus it is likely cancerous. Forced to change tact, Russell makes a big decision about how to treat Stevie. Will this save her life?

3. Rida faces terror

Rida struggles to deal with the enormity of the situation, with her friend and colleague Stevie on the operating table. But during the tense surgery, she faces another shocking ordeal, when Russell’s inappropriate behaviour escalates even further. Rida is unable to do anything, and she is devastated to realise that no one else witnessed the incident.
Shaken by what happened, Rida finds it difficult to continue assisting the tricky operation. How will she deal with this terrifying situation?
4. Indie breaks the rules

When Indie arrives for her call handler shift in the control room, she finds Jan looking frazzled. She discovers that a performance review is taking place, and Jan will be blamed if things go wrong and response targets are breached.
Later, Indie spots that an ambulance hasn’t arrived in time for one of her patients. She breaks protocol and phones the caller back herself, downgrading the call category when she is told that the patient’s condition has improved. As the shift takes some dramatic turns, will Indie’s actions have consequences?

5. Rash has doubts

Dylan approaches Flynn, following the riots and their tense confrontation in resus. Despite Dylan’s calls for him to go home, Flynn is determined to stay and help the team through a difficult night in the ED.
Flynn later thanks Rash for working overtime, but he isn’t convinced by his boss’s attempts to seem like a compassionate leader – having observed his violent attack on Dylan earlier in the shift and still reeling from his cousin Tariq’s dramatic exit. Will Flynn be able to win over Rash?
Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One and now streams first on BBC iPlayer, where episodes are released at 6am on the day of transmission.
