5 huge Casualty spoilers for next week

Next week on Casualty, Rida takes a huge risk to bring down Russell, while Indie gets some mysterious phone calls and Rash has some tricky decisions to make in the ED.

Here is our round-up of all the biggest moments coming up, in the latest episode of the current boxset, ‘Internal Affairs’ – titled ‘Save Yourself’.

1. Nicole is humiliated

Rida is reluctant to report Russell to HR, after finding out that he is Flynn’s father-in-law. She tries to remove herself from the situation and asks to rejoin the ED, but Siobhan tells her that there are no available positions for her.

Later, Nicole is late to work and arrives in her casual clothes, so Russell demands that she gives a twirl to the entire surgery team. With Sean cowardly complying to Russell’s instruction, Nicole has no choice to do as she is told – and Rida is furious.

2. Indie’s mystery caller

With Indie now happily living with Jan, she begins her paramedic shift with Jacob. She receives a call on her mobile from an unknown number, but she quickly ignores it.

As Indie and Jacob are called to a house fire, she is interrupted by another anonymous call, so she switches her phone off. Who is trying to contact Indie, and what do they want?

3. Rida takes action

After the humiliating incident, Rida comforts Nicole and asks her again about the list. Nicole grants her access to an online group, a private space where female surgeons nationwide list names of dodgy male colleagues – but stresses that it must not be shared.

Rida tells Cam and Jodie what she has discovered, and says she is tempted to make the group public. Her friends warn her that doing so would expose anonymous whistleblowers, but Rida insists that the issue shouldn’t be swept under the carpet and that if the women come together, they might make a change. As Rida decides to follow her instincts, is she making a big mistake?

4. Rash is in charge

When a patient refuses to be treated by a woman, Flynn concedes to their demands, something which troubles Rash. Flynn is busy with paperwork and meetings and doesn’t want to get into a debate, so he hands Rash the power to make the decisions in the ED for the day.

But later, Rash struggles to decide whether to get involve social services with a patient he is treating. He seeks advice from Flynn, who bluntly tells him to follow protocol. Will Rash toe the line or go against the clinical lead?

5. Ngozi’s traumatic morning

Ngozi’s son Obi suffers a violent seizure at home, and as she struggles to deal with the traumatic incident, Nicole calls an ambulance. The paramedics arrive and Obi is taken to hospital, and distraught Ngozi doesn’t want to leave her son’s side. She asks Dylan if Obi’s seizures will be permanent, but he is unable to give her a definite response.

What will this latest incident mean for Obi’s relationship with her son?

Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One and now streams first on BBC iPlayer, where episodes are released at 6am on the day of transmission.
