Barney Walsh, son of The Chase host Bradley Walsh, was forced to issue a warning to his Instagram followers about a potential scam. Barney, 27, who hosts BBC’s Gladiators with his famous father, felt the need to speak out after discovering a fake account pretending to be him or his management.
The Casualty actor, who plays Cameron Mickelthwaite in the BBC medical drama, shared a message to his followers as he insisted he only has one Instagram account. In a post shared to his Stories, Barney wrote: “Hi guys! I’ve had a few of you dm me lately showing me screenshots of various accounts claiming to be me or my agent/management.”
He continued: “Just to let you all know – this is my only Instagram account! If you get any messages from other account claiming to be me or management then please know they are not real and you should block or report them. Thanks everyone x,” reports Birmingham Live.
Barney has followed in his dad Bradley’s famous footsteps and carved out an impressive career in the TV industry over recent years. The father-and-son duo have teamed up on a number of occasions for TV projects, with the most recent being hosting the BBC’s reboot of Gladiators, which launched earlier this year.
Bradley and Barney also starred in hit ITV series Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad. The travel series saw the pair head off on a road trip to numerous different countries, where they took part in some daring activities. Five seasons of the reality show have aired so far.
Away from working with his dad, Barney has carved out a career as an actor. He’s starred in TV series such as The Larkins, Death in Paradise, Doctors and Law & Order: UK. He also appeared in the film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and in 2023 he was cast in BBC’s Casualty in the regular role of Cameron Mickelthwaite. Barney’s other TV appearances include shows such as All Stars Musicals, CeleAbility and Celebrity Catchphrase.
Meanwhile, Barney’s father Bradley boasts an incredible TV career, which is said to have earned him millions over the years. Bradley has been hosting ITV’s The Chase for 15 years and has made a fortune from regular panto appearances, two best-selling albums, and roles in Coronation Street and Doctor Who. Bradley, who also hosted the quiz show Midas Touch in the mid-90s, lives in a £2.5m converted barn in Essex with his wife Donna.
