BBC Casualty’s Tariq leaves fans infuriated as they spot major error after horror accident

Casualty fans weren’t too happy with Tariq’s actions during tonight’s episode of the BBC medical drama.

Casualty viewers were quick to spot a major error as Tariq fled the scene following a horror accident. During tonight’s episode of the BBC show, things weren’t looking good for the doctor as his future was hanging in the balance.

He desperately sought support for his place on the trauma course, but Siobhan refused to give him a character reference because he hadn’t been at Holby for long enough.

She suggested that he ask his former supervisor in Australia, which left him unsure. Things then took a shocking turn as cousin Rash was suspicious so he contacted the hospital in Australia where he found out that Tarid had been sleeping with patients there, which is something he has done before.

Once confronted, Tariq insisted that things between him and Yasmin were over but Rash didn’t believe him and advised him to do the right thing and withdraw from the course.

It was clear things hadn’t changed as after his shift Tariq went to see Yasmin at her home. They begin drinking and doing drugs, before having an explosive row as Tarid suddenly realised that he shouldn’t be there.

As he went to leave the house, Yasmin stumbled and ended up plummeting from the balcony. While she lay on the floor, lifeless, a panicked Tariq called Rash, as he was unsure of what to do.

Rash came straight to the scene and was left horrified when he saw what happened. He insisted that Tariq should leave before anyone came, as he would lose his job if they saw him in this state.

Later on, Rash found Tariq lurking around the hospital, as he said: “I’m freaking out.” Rash fumed: “So am I because even if she does make a full recovery we’re screwed, professionally and ethically.”

Tariq explained: “We did everything we could.” A frustrated Rash replied: “You have been sleeping with a patient again and you were treating her while drunk, high and I came along and instead of reporting you, I cover for you. I’ve just lied to Stevie, to Teddy.”

He added: “If there’s an investigation, I’m telling the truth. I am done protecting you.”

Viewers watching at home couldn’t help but question why Tariq didn’t ring an ambulance first, hitting out at the obvious blunder.

One Tweeted: “He phoned Rash but not an ambulance? Okay #Casualty.” (sic)

Another wrote: “Doesn’t call 999, calls his cousin, great idea Tariq #Casualty.” (sic)

Meanwhile one added: “Rash will think that Tariq pushed her after what he’s just found out about him sleeping with patients and being violent with them. #Casualty.” (sic)

Casualty continues next Saturday at 9.10pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
