Sonny tries to spend some quality time with Remi, who brushes him off in favour of a romantic beach picnic with Bree. As Sonny looks elsewhere for company, he’s also rejected by Theo, Kirby and Rose.

Remi tells Bree that he arranged their picnic because it’s a year since she lost her dad. Bree is touched that he remembered. As Sonny witnesses the moment, he misinterprets it as another example of Remi’s life seeming “perfect”. He questions why his best friend always seems to get what he wants.

Meanwhile, Irene is resentful as her friends pressure her into spending more time with John. She eventually snaps, declaring that John is a painful reminder of every mistake that she made, which ultimately led to her lowest point.

John decides to leave town for a while to give Irene the space she needs. He lies to Irene, claiming that Jett is unwell and he needs to go and visit.
