Home and Away is set to air new distressing scenes for Eliza Sherwood.
In scenes airing next week, Roo Stewart insists Eliza should socialise with people her age and gives her a choice. She could return to the youth programme or go to school.
Faced with Roo’s ultimatum, Eliza opts for what she thinks being the lesser of two evils and decides to continue the youth program.
Meanwhile, Mali Hudson watches as Tane Parata tries his best to connect with Eliza, and later admits to Abigail that he suspects Roo’s foster child needs professional help. Abigail gets defensive, worried that Mali sees Eliza as a screw up because she messed up once.

Later on, Roo’s proud of Eliza for going back to the youth program and gifts her a phone.
In the programme, Eliza bonds with Scott, who she previously hit, but turns violent again when he takes her new phone to try and put his number in it. Furious and defensive, Eliza smashes the nearest sauce bottle, waving the broken glass close to Scott’s neck as she demands he give her back the phone.
Eliza shows no remorse for her dangerous actions, stirring concern within Tane.
At home, Marilyn Chambers is concerned about Eliza’s behaviour. When she’s back, Roo has a chat with her foster daughter to get her to explain what went down with Scott.

As Eliza doesn’t seem to regret her actions, Roo asks Cash Newman to come over and give her an idea of what the consequences of her attack could end up being. But, at the sight of a police officer, Eliza bolts upstairs.
Cash does some unofficial research to find out more about Eliza, discovering she was forcibly removed from her family and suffered the traumatic loss of her grandmother. Roo shares with her what she knows and they embrace.
Over Roo’s shoulder though, Marilyn looks at Eliza’s expression as it shifts and turns into a smile. Is Eliza playing Roo and, if so, to what end?
Roo, concerned about Eliza’s social isolation, insists that she needs to engage with others her age. In an effort to help Eliza, Roo offers her an ultimatum: she can either return to the youth program or go back to school. Eliza, feeling cornered, decides to stay in the youth program, believing it to be the lesser of two evils.
As the situation unfolds, Mali Hudson observes Tane Parata’s attempt to connect with Eliza. He notices her troubled behavior and later confides in Abigail, expressing his concern that Eliza might need professional help. However, Abigail becomes defensive, concerned that Mali sees Eliza as a failure due to her past mistakes. This growing tension suggests deeper issues beneath the surface, with Eliza’s past traumas continuing to shape her actions.
Later, Roo expresses pride in Eliza for returning to the youth program, even giving her a new phone as a gesture of encouragement. However, things quickly take a darker turn when Eliza bonds with Scott, a boy she previously hit. When Scott tries to put his number in her new phone, Eliza’s anger flares up, and she violently smashes a sauce bottle, waving the broken glass dangerously close to Scott’s neck. Eliza shows no remorse for her actions, and this triggers deep concern from Tane, who is worried about her volatile behavior.
Back at home, Marilyn Chambers becomes increasingly concerned about Eliza’s actions, particularly her lack of remorse. When Roo tries to speak with Eliza to understand what happened with Scott, Eliza remains defiant and unapologetic. This prompts Roo to call in Cash Newman to help understand the consequences of Eliza’s outburst. However, when Eliza sees Cash, a police officer, she runs upstairs, avoiding the conversation entirely.
In an effort to understand Eliza better, Cash conducts some unofficial research and discovers that Eliza has experienced significant trauma, including being forcibly removed from her family and losing her grandmother. Roo shares what she knows about Eliza’s past, and the two women embrace, but there’s an unsettling moment when Marilyn notices a shift in Eliza’s expression. For a brief moment, Eliza smiles, leaving Marilyn to wonder: Is Eliza playing Roo, and if so, what are her true intentions?
These scenes, set to air on Monday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 6, will add to the growing mystery surrounding Eliza’s behavior. As her foster family grapples with her unpredictable actions, it becomes increasingly clear that Eliza’s past is influencing her present—and her future remains uncertain.
