Home and Away‘s Harper Matheson faces a heartbreaking decision over her future next week – can she marry a man who doesn’t really love her?

Harper breaks down ahead of her planned wedding to Tane Parata, realising that her husband-to-be may never see her as more than just a friend and co-parent.

With just days to go before the ceremony, Harper returns home early from her trip to the city, where she’s been completing a final work handover before going on maternity leave.

Harper hopes for a warm welcome home from Tane, but the reality is very different…

“Tane seems completely emotionless over Harper being back after days away,” our Home and Away source shares.

“Poor Harper wants love and passion in her relationship, but Tane can barely muster up any enthusiasm over seeing her back home. In fact, things get so awkward that Harper has to invite her sister Dana around as a buffer to keep the conversation flowing.”

Later in the week, things get worse as Tane nearly forgets about his wedding rehearsal with Harper.

As Tane hasn’t bothered to tell his best man Cash Newman about the important occasion, Dana rushes to the rescue to make sure the Summer Bay cop is in attendance.

Even so, the rehearsal is a low-key affair, with Tane not even giving his wife-to-be a practice kiss after they go over their vows.

Back home, Harper goes through some mementoes showing Tane’s wedding to his first wife Felicity, who died last year.

Tane couldn’t look happier in the photos and Harper realises that it’s a total contrast to his attitude now.

When Harper questions Tane on his feelings, he offers various reassurances – but she’s far from convinced and decides that some sisterly advice is in order.

“Harper calls on Dana for a heart-to-heart, knowing that Dana has had doubts over this wedding for weeks,” our insider adds.

“It’s clear that Harper is at a major crossroads in her life. Marrying Tane would provide stability and security for herself and her unborn son Archie… but can Harper really enter into a loveless marriage when she knows deep down that she deserves better?”
