She told Tane that she would be raising their baby alone, cutting him out of Archie’s life completely. However, there may be a glimmer of hope. In later scenes, Mackenzie delivered a gift from Tane to Archie at the hospital – a handwritten letter and a traditional Māori ceremonial cloak (Korowai). When he returned, he saw Archie wearing his Korowai, and Harper apologized, conceding that he should be there with them.
