Australia’s most popular entertainment shows are currently Home & Awayand Tipping Point.
That’s a particularly brilliant result for a drama in its 38th year.
Every night this week one of the two (or both) have outranked reality entertainment offerings from Seven, Nine and 10 including Lego Masters*, Farmer Wants a Wife and MasterChef Australia.
Anecdotally, this suggests fatigue with current Reality offerings.
They also outranked Gruen, Have You Been Paying Attention, The Chase, The Cheap Seats, The Front Bar, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee, Deal or No Deal, Airport 24/7 –but to be fair some of those won their respective slots.
Tipping Point topped entertaiment on Tuesday at 807,000 with Home & Away next best at 741,000.
7:30 led its slot at 664,000 then Grand Designs (424,000), Airport 24/7(372,000), Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly (346,000 in select markets).
NRL was 552,000 on Nine with AFL at 452,000 on Seven where it screened.
Seven won Thursday.
Seven News was #1 at 1.36m then The Chase (664,000). Britain’s Got Talent ended at 212,000 across the network.
Nine News pulled 1.33m then A Current Affair (1.01m).
ABC News drew 892,000. Grand Designs Revisited was 350,000 then House of Games (280,000) and Grand Designs Australia (208,000). Some ‘inspired’ programming there…
10 News First scored 367,000 then The Project (300,000) and Deal or No Deal (241,000), Law & Order: SVU (235,000) and a Cheap Seats replay (120,00).
On SBS it was SBS World News (250,000 / 163,000), Mastermind(115,000), Sherlock & Daughter (89,000), Killing Sherlock with Lucy Worsely (75,000) and Our Medicine with just 55,000 at 7:30.
The Morning Show: 258,000 / 152,000
Today Extra: 197,000 / 130,000
National Total TV: Thursday 12 June 2025.
*Lego Masters topped Sunday entertainment when neither Home & Awaynor Tipping Point were screening, but its numbers still tracked behind both shows by comparison.
Also worth noting Seven screened two versions of The 1% Club in various markets this week.
