CORONATION Street has signed up a Casualty and Brassic star as part of Joel Deering’s current explosive storyline. The actor will be introduced as a high-flying solicitor who had previous dealings with Joel as his former employer. Nick Harris will be introduced as Mal Walcott next week when he takes a meeting with Dee-Dee Bailey after she tries to sniff out information on her former fiance. The soap has signed Nick up for a short stint with Mal making his debut next week as well as returning once more later into September. Revealing his role online, Nick teased his upcoming plot as he said: “Dee-Dee is intrigued to find out that Joel used to work for a firm called Walcotts, who specialise in helping vulnerable young people. What will she discover? “I’ll be making my debut in Weatherfield next Monday as Mal Walcott in @itvcorrie and return later in September. #corrie.” Nick is best known for having played the role of Graham in Brassic for two episodes. Just last week, the actor appeared in BBC medical drama Casualty where he made his debut on the show as Lennie Parkes. No stranger to TV, Nick has managed to bag a handful of guest roles in some of the most iconic shows on British screens. Nick has appeared in fellow BBC soap Doctors, BBC Three breakout show Boarders as well as drama hits Call The Midwife, Gentleman Jack and Grace. In Nick’s episodes, Mal could unlock the secret behind Joel’s behaviour. Walcotts closely helped supporting vulnerable young people which rings alarm bells for Dee-Dee. Joel has had an inappropriate relationship with Lauren Bolton as well as trying to pursue connections with a slew of other young girls including Betsey and Sabrina. Fans know things are still set to get worse between Joel, Dee-Dee and Lauren as the ladies team up to get him sent down. An explosive new trailer reveals that the pair will work with DS Swain to prove Joel’s true colours. However, for Dee-Dee and Swain, things may be a bit more difficult as it is clear that Joel has no plans to go down for his crimes. Full of himself, Joel calculates a way to avoid facing justice but a fragile Dee-Dee makes it her mission to bring him down.In upcoming scenes, Dee-Dee will work with DS Swain in order to bring Joel down
