Australian model and Home and Away actress Annalise Braakensiek has been found dead at her home in Sydney.

Police found Ms Braakensiek, 46, on Sunday. They are not treating the death as suspicious.

The authorities arrived at her property in the suburb of Potts Point in Sydney after her friends became concerned for her welfare, saying that she had not replied to texts since Thursday.

The model, who was a human rights and animal rights activist, turned her hand to acting, starring in the Australian comedy Fat Pizza.

She also spent a year as the co-host of Dolly Dealer of UK game show Play Your Cards Right alongside presenting veteran Bruce Forsyth in 2002.

In one of her most recent Instagram posts, the Ms Braakensiek had said that she had been “feeling upside down lately.”

She split with her husband of sixteen years, stockbroker Danny Goldberg, in 2018.

In 2017 she also told the Sydney Morning Herald that she had struggled to deal with the deaths of the people close to her.

The model and actor had been open about suffering from mental health issues, and said that she underwent cognitive behavioural therapy for her difficulties.

“I couldn’t get out of bed. I think I spent about six weeks in bed,” she told the publication.

“I couldn’t do anything but cry my heart out – it was a very frightening feeling.”

“I don’t know if a broken heart mends or learns to live in pieces,” she wrote in an Instagram post sharing her grief.

Ms Braakensiek was also an ambassador for suicide prevention organisation R U OK?

“We are still processing the news we have heard today,” said CEO Brendan Maher.

“We couldn’t have asked for a more genuine, kind and sincere spokesperson.
