• Past Role (Bad Cop): Jeremy Lindsay Taylor was last seen in Summer Bay in 2016 (and briefly in 2017) as Detective Dylan Carter. Carter was a corrupt police officer involved in the Charlotte King murder investigation, and he was also the abusive ex-fiancé of Kat Chapman. His tenure was marked by manipulation and shady dealings.
• New Role (Good Cop): Taylor has now returned to the show as Sergeant David Langham, the new police sergeant at Yabbie Creek police station. This time, he’s described as a “straight-talking, by-the-book cop who is determined to ensure his new team toe the line.” This includes having immediate friction with Senior Constable Cash Newman, who doesn’t get off to the best start with his new boss.

Taylor’s casting as Sergeant Langham was kept under wraps for about six months while he was filming. He expressed his excitement about being back on the long-running series, calling it a “whirlwind” and “very, very exciting.” He’s no stranger to playing men in uniform, having portrayed several police officers throughout his career, but he considers Langham his favorite because of his “by-the-book” nature, which he believes Summer Bay desperately needs.
