Casualty paramedics Iain Dean and Teddy Gowan had a dramatic call out during a storm in the latest episode of the BBC medical drama.
Casualty’s Iain Dean (played by Michael Stevenson) dived in at the deep end to stage a daring rescue in the long-running BBC medical drama and not everyone was happy about it. The brave paramedic dived into a lake to save a man trapped in a car at the bottom of it.
He wasn’t even supposed to be working but had agreed to do extra callouts to help Teddy Gowan (Milo Clarke) despite girlfriend Faith Cadogan’s (Kirsty Mitchell) protests. In tense scenes, he failed to get the door open on his first attempt but after coming up for air and diving again he succeeded in getting the man free.
While he was hailed a hero by most people, Faith was not impressed with his actions as his recklessness reminded her of her late husband Paramedic Lev Malinovsky (Uriel Emil). He lost his life in 2021 when he was hit by a train after being called out to a crash on the tracks. Back in Holby, she berated him and as he pointed out Teddy needed him she tried to explain her feelings.
“I know you always go above and beyond for your patients and for your friends and for me. But you jumped in a lake and you’ve cut your arm and I’m grateful because it could have been a lot worse,” she said. “Remember what happened to Lev? Iain if anything ever happened to you I would just…” she choked up.
As he tried to reassure her nothing was going to happen, she told him: “I’m not gonna stop worrying about it, am I? When you jumped in the water did you even think of me? It’s not just me, there are three kids who adore the ground you walk on and we come as a family and we’re your family if you want us.”
“I just need you to stop doing stupid things, I need you to think and be safe and not do stupid dangerous things to yourself,” she cried.

Fans were left divided by the dramatic scenes and while some agreed with Faith, others felt it was just Iain’s nature.
@ASuperGav said on X: “Don’t waste your time with him, Faith. He apologizes then does exactly the same thing again #Casualty.” (sic) @boniface_lyn advised: “#Casualty Faith just Shutup laying down the law with Ian, you haven’t been back with him for long, he will get fed up with you….”
@maxinecampbell3 commented: “Whoa, Faith hold it down love #Casualty.” @KarenF040383 pointed out: “If Iain stopped doing what he does, he wouldn’t be Iain. It’s what Iain does risking everything.” #Casualty
@TakeTheGap felt sorry for the brave paramedic chiming in: “#casualty just want to cuddle Iain with his wet hair and puppy eyes right now as faith berates him.” Meanwhile @RyanTheSoapking was emotional at the mention of Faith’s husband writing: “Lev mention #Casualty,” with a broken heart and a crying emoji.

Actor Michael had previously teased the daring scenes back in January in an instagram post.
“Feeling pretty bloody lucky to have spent two days filming at the legendary @pinewoodstudios. This is a dream come true for me to be on a studio lot steeped in so much film history,” he wrote alongside a selfie outside the famous Pinewood Studios underwater stage.
“Thank you to Dave Shaw and his underwater team for looking after me and making the whole experience an absolute joy! As always, thank you to the @bbccasualtyofficial crew for being the best, home and away! #pinewoodstudios #casualty.” (sic)
