While this paradise is a world away from Summer Bay, its vast stretches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters make it the perfect backdrop for the much-anticipated return of fan-favorite characters Ziggy and Dean.

The storyline sees Ziggy and Dean living an idyllic life with their daughter, Izzy, in North Queensland—until an unexpected visit from Mack and Levi turns their peaceful world upside down. But while the setting is picture-perfect, the filming conditions were anything but easy. The scorching heat and relentless humidity presented major challenges for the cast and crew. Tristan, 29, admitted that the extreme weather made the shoot particularly grueling, while Emily, 34, compared filming action sequences in the Queensland cane fields to being in a sauna. Even the stunning ocean scenes came with difficulties, as strong tides added another layer of complexity to the production.

Despite the challenges, the cast embraced the opportunity to reunite. Emily was thrilled to work once again with Sophie and Patrick, who left the show in 2023. “It felt like no time had passed at all,” she shared. Patrick, who reprises his role as River Boy Dean, echoed the sentiment, describing his return as feeling like coming home. After traveling the world with Sophie and spending the past two years in London, he found the tropical heat a welcome change.

Series producer Lucy Adario emphasized the production team’s effort to create a distinct visual contrast to Sydney’s Palm Beach. With its stunning scenery and gripping storyline, Tristan promises that this Home and Away arc is one fans won’t want to miss!
