Casualty aired a soap star crossover in tonight’s episode (February 17), as Hollyoaks star Nadine Mulkerrin made a guest appearance in the medical drama.

Mulkerrin, who returned to her Hollyoaks role as Cleo McQueen in January, appeared in the latest edition of Casualty as Roisin, the daughter of a patient named Wyatt who Rash Masum suspected of having Ebola.

When Roisin arrived in the ED, it was clear that her relationship with her father was strained as she admitted that she hadn’t seen him in years, but she was horrified to witness her dad having a seizure and bleeding while in quarantine.

After Rash discovered a bag of pills in Wyatt’s pocket, he and Dylan Keogh questioned Roisin on her father’s history, and she confirmed that he had embarked on a number of unconventional health regimes in the past.

The medics soon concluded that Wyatt was not suffering from Ebola, but had instead been poisoned by some toxic pills that he had been taking in an attempt to lose weight.

Although Mulkerrin has been back filming at Hollyoaks for a couple of months now, Casualty is filmed approximately four months in advance, meaning that it is likely that she filmed her guest role before returning to Hollyoaks.

After Cleo returned to Hollyoaks village, she was followed by her boyfriend Abe Fielding, although Cleo is really interested in getting back together with her ex, Joel Dexter.

Mulkerrin has confirmed that Cleo’s relationship with Abe is far from perfect, hinting that there could be some dark twists ahead for her.

“He’s very intense, and the fact he shows up like this is a bit weird,” she said. “It looks as though Cleo is going to be unlucky in love again with him, as he’s quite manipulative and coercive, and the kind of person who might isolate her from her family…”

It has since been revealed that Abe and Joel are actually brothers.
