Casualty fans all ask the same thing in Jacob Masters lost son storyline

Jacob Masters has been searching for his missing son in recent weeks in the long-running BBC medical drama.

Casualty’s Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) found his missing son in the latest instalment of the long-running BBC medical drama but it was clear the pair have a long road ahead of them. Jacob has been raising his grandchild after Blake abandoned them but hadn’t given up hope of finding his wayward offspring despite the protestations of boss and housemate Jan Jenning (Di Boucher).

He has been searching for the young man for weeks but as his search finally came to an end viewers were left wondering where Blake’s mother Elle (Jaye Griffiths) was in all of this. Blake and Jacob only met when he was a teenager as Elle had never told Jacob she was pregnant and viewers couldn’t help but notice she is nowhere to be seen during the recent travails.

@shel123x commented on X: “Genuinely baffled as to why they’ve never mentioned Elle, is it to make out that Jacob is the only one who cares about Blake – it doesn’t work because we have seen how much Elle loved her kids. #casualty.”

@gillianwalley wailed: “#casualty this blake story needs to end now !!! Wouldn’t his mum be doing something- or did she fall off the end of the earth when she left casualty!!!!”

Meanwhile others observed how difficult Jacob was being to his boss and housemate Jan Jenning (Di Boucher) as he put his search for Blake above everything else.

@RyanTheSoapking observed: “Jacob is pushing Jan to her limit lately. He’ll be lucky to still have a job as a paramedic by the end of this series the way he is going #Casualty.”

@UKTVForever1 agreed writing: “#Casualty Jacob You’re pushing Jan too far.”
Although Jacob has been searching for weeks and even reported Blake missing to the police it was mental health nurse Sophia Peters (Kellie Shirley) who eventually found him.
She was working in an outreach centre when she encountered a man she believed to be Blake.

When Jacob learned of this he immediately went there but to no avail. However he then spotted Blake on the street near the centre and ran after him.

He eventually caught up with the young man who took a lot of convincing to return home with him. Jacob promised to help him leading to him agreeing to stay with his father.

This then created another awkward situation as Jacob hadn’t told Jan, who he currently lives with, Blake would be staying.

Clearly unhappy with the situation she acquiescenced but said he could only stay for one night.

Casualty is on BBC One on Saturday nights. Previous episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.
