Casualty returns this weekend for a brand new series

Following the emotional Christmas special last weekend, which focused on the incredible stories of giving and receiving blood, BBC drama Casualty is set to return this weekend for a brand new run of episodes.

As we await the first episode, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming new series from Holby City Hospital’s emergency department.

When does Casualty start?

The first episode of the new series begins at 9.15pm on Saturday 28th December on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

What is the new series called?

The new series is called Public Property.

What is the new series about?

Public Property explores the fine line between a public service job and the right to a private life. BBC bosses have released the plot for the first three episodes.

Episode one: Jodie’s actions cause a disastrous ripple effect, Stevie faces hostility when she puts her personal issues with Siobhan aside, and trainee Indie and Jan collide.

Episode two: Dylan and Jodie are bonded by a tragic death, whilst Nicole becomes aware that she should seize the day. Can Rash hide a secret from his cousin Tariq?

Episode three: As Indie faces the ultimate horror on her first paramedic shift, Faith is worried she will lose all that she loves. Will Jodie realise which boundaries she should not cross?

When is it on TV?

From Saturday 28th December, new episodes will air every Saturday night on BBC One.

Timings change slightly every week.

Where is it filmed?

Although it was previously filmed in Bristol, filming for Casualty moved to Cardiff in 2011, at BBC Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff Bay. The studios are located in Porth Teigr.
