In September, it was announced that Casualty would be taking some time off from the BBC’s schedule until further notice.

An official representative said the show will return later this year, but with no official date set, fans have been left frustrated – and they desperately want to know when it’s coming back.

Fans have finally been given hope by star Charles Venn, who plays Jacob Masters.

He took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a few selfies from the set of the long-running BBC medical drama.

The pictures show him laughing and smiling alongside his co-stars Diane Botcher, who plays Jen Jennings and Milo Clarke, who plays Teddy Gowan.

“Had too much fun today with this mob,” Charles wrote alongside the snaps which he posted on November 1.

The trio are kitted out in their paramedic uniforms in the pictures, which indicate filming on the drama has resumed.

Charles’ post has given fans some much needed encouragement that the show will be returning soon.

Meanwhile, fans commented on the post and admitted they’re having withdrawals and at a loss for what to watch on a Saturday night.

One fan said: “I miss not seeing Casualty on Saturday nights.”

“I am missing it sooo much,” another lamented.

“I really miss seeing Casualty, too. It doesn’t feel like a Saturday night without it,” said a third.

Charles toyed with fans even more in a follow up tweet, replying to the third social media user, he said “not too long left.” The TV star completed the message with a red love heart.

The BBC has yet to announce how long fans will have to wait for the series to return, but with less than two full months left in 2023, the show should be back soon.
