Home and Away couple welcome first child as they proudly share first pics

A fan favourite Home and Away couple have welcomed their first child. Rebecca Breeds and Luke Mitchell have become proud parents to a son, with them announcing the news alongside an adorable photo. “Welcome to the world little man. Thanks for choosing us. We love you beyond words,” they said alongside the snap.

The pair, who played Ruby and Romeo on the Aussie soap, have not yet revealed their baby boy’s name, but were flooded with supportive messages from fans and friends. Famous pal Jessica McNamee said: “He’s here! Congratulations you two.” Actress Georgie Parker added: “Oh Luke, huge congratulations to you and Bec. Now the fun begins. Sending love” and Jaimie Alexander commented: “Awwww congrats to you both. Sending so much love!” Esther Anderson, who played Rebecca’s mum in Home and Away said: “Yayyy!! Huge congratulations you guys!!! So happy for you.”

Rebecca announced her pregnancy last November when she cradled her baby bump on the red carpet at the Adelaide Film Festival – and was swiftly congratulated.

Rebecca, who looked stunning in a light purple floor length gown on the carpet shared the photo on Instagram, alongside the caption: “VERY excited to share baby Mitchell and @kangarooislandmovie coming sooooooooon! Thanks @adlfilmfest for having us and everyone who came to support us.” Luke then commented on the post with a string of heart emojis.

He also shared the news to his Instagram followers. Sharing the picture of Rebecca to his story, the star wrote: “I’m the luckiest man, husband and soon-to-be dad in the universe.”

Rebecca and Luke first met on the Home and Away set and have been together for 15 years. Luke popped the question in 2012, and the pair tied the knot just a year later, in January 2013 in NSW’s Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. In an intimate wedding of 70 guests, the pair exchanged emotional vows they’d written themselves.
