Home and Away newcomer DS Mark Townsend plots to have Cash Newman jailed on UK screens next week.
Show bosses have cast former Neighbours and A Place to Call Home actor Craig Hall in the role of Townsend, a no-nonsense detective who investigates the brutal attack on Tim Russell.
This week’s episodes see Lyrik head off for some private rehearsals at a remote retreat booked by Remi Carter. Tim, Bree Cameron and Justin Morgan all get invitations to come along and support the band.
Cash also gatecrashes the occasion when he becomes convinced that his ex-fiancée Eden Fowler is in danger.

Cash tries to raise the alarm that Tim’s former counselling client Nerida Mullins has made dark threats against Tim and Eden. When Tim refuses to listen, a heated clash unfolds between the two men.
The following day, a dazed Cash regains consciousness in mysterious circumstances. He realises that he has blood on his hands, right next to Tim’s lifeless body.
Bree rushes in to save Tim’s life, while police are called to the scene to investigate the disturbing crime.
Townsend sets to work immediately, prioritising the theory that Cash caused Tim’s injuries. Cash begs Townsend to focus on Nerida, as Eden still isn’t safe, but Townsend is dismissive and assumes that he’s the one who poses a threat.

Once he’s settled in at the police station, Townsend forces Rose Delaney to question Cash about Tim’s attack.
Cash is uncooperative – partly as he’s struggling with concussion after being attacked himself at the scene of the crime, and partly because he’s still trying to raise the alarm that Nerida is a threat to Eden.
Rose humours Cash by looking into the Nerida line of inquiry. Townsend harshly challenges her on this, demanding to know why she’s investigating Nerida when so much evidence points to Cash.
The final straw for Townsend comes when Remi arrives at the police station, giving his account of a fight that Tim and Cash had just hours before Tim was found unconscious.

Townsend deems this enough to pursue a criminal case against Cash, so he issues a warrant for the disgraced policeman’s arrest.
As Cash is put in a cell at the police station, Rose kindly lets Eden pay him a visit. Cash protests his innocence to Eden and is relieved when she believes him.
Townsend finds out about Eden’s visit and seethes over Rose’s favouritism towards her friends. He removes her from the case effective immediately – but is he making a mistake by pursuing the wrong suspect?
Craig Hall recently appeared on fellow Aussie soap Neighbours for two separate stints as Jane Harris’s ex-husband Victor Stone.
Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 11 on Channel 5.
