Home and Away spoiler: Abigail and Mali’s issues worsen

Abigail goes overboard with her focus on Mali, who sees it as more evidence that she doesn’t trust him. Abigail denies this theory but Mali refuses to back down. It’s only when Abigail catches up with Eden later that she admits she has trust issues.

Eden suggests that Abigail should seek some space from Mali by quitting the board shop and getting a job at Salt. Abigail agrees, so she lets Mali know that she’s quitting for the sake of their relationship.

Meanwhile, Irene opens up to Dana about how she’s struggling without the routine that her time in rehab provided.

The next morning, the two friends team up for a power walk. Dana and Marilyn soon make a pact to help Irene stay busy. They also try to get John involved, but Irene confuses everyone by admitting that she doesn’t want to spend any time with him.

Elsewhere, Mackenzie picks a bad day to avoid her work responsibilities.

Home and Away Soap Scoop! Eliza's dark side emerges

Tensions continue to simmer in Summer Bay as Abigail makes a drastic decision in a bid to save her relationship with Mali, Irene confesses to feeling lost after rehab, and Mackenzie’s attempt to skip out on work comes at the worst possible time.

It’s been a rocky road for Abigail (Hailey Pinto) and Mali (Kyle Shilling) in recent weeks, and things don’t get any easier when Abigail’s well-meaning efforts to support her boyfriend backfire in a big way. Determined to be present and helpful, Abigail ends up smothering Mali, who sees her hovering as a sign that she still doesn’t trust him.

When Mali finally confronts Abigail, she denies that she’s suspicious or controlling—but Mali isn’t convinced. For him, it’s not just about work or relationships anymore—it’s about independence, space, and respect. And from where he’s standing, Abigail’s actions are ringing alarm bells.

Later, Abigail confides in Eden (Stephanie Panozzo), finally admitting what she refused to say to Mali: she does have trust issues. It’s a significant breakthrough, and Eden doesn’t hesitate to offer advice. She gently suggests that some space might actually help the couple breathe and reset. Maybe the best thing for them both is a little distance—starting with Abigail stepping away from the surfboard shop.

Taking Eden’s words to heart, Abigail decides to act fast. She approaches Mali and announces that she’s quitting the board shop—not because she doesn’t care, but because she wants to give their relationship the chance to thrive. Instead, she’s eyeing a role at Salt, where she can focus on something new and create healthier boundaries between her work life and personal one.

While the gesture is heartfelt, only time will tell if it’s enough to rebuild the fractured trust between them.

Meanwhile, Irene (Lynne McGranger) is going through a quieter but no less emotional struggle. Despite being back home after her time in rehab, Irene is finding it hard to adjust to life without the structured routine that helped her heal. The days now feel too long, too empty, and too quiet—and it’s starting to take a toll.

Opening up to Dana (Ally Harris), Irene admits she’s floundering. She misses the sense of purpose and the comfort of predictability that rehab provided. Dana, ever the supportive friend, jumps into action and the two make a plan to get moving—starting with a brisk power walk to shake the cobwebs off.

Marilyn (Emily Symons) soon joins their mission to keep Irene engaged and positive, with the two friends even attempting to loop John (Shane Withington) into their new wellness routine. But in a surprising twist, Irene abruptly shuts down the suggestion—revealing that she doesn’t actually want to spend time with John at all.

The admission stuns everyone, and although Irene doesn’t go into detail, it’s clear that her relationship with John remains a raw and unresolved emotional wound. Could her reluctance stem from lingering guilt or painful memories? Either way, her friends now know that giving Irene a routine isn’t enough—they’ll need to tread carefully when it comes to matters of the heart.

Elsewhere, Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is walking on thin ice as she chooses the worst possible day to dodge her work responsibilities. With Levi (Tristan Gorey) still buzzing over their recent holiday plans and the idea of meeting her brother Dean, Mackenzie decides to escape the pressure and lay low.

But avoiding her duties at Salt quickly proves to be a mistake. As tensions rise at the restaurant and the rest of the team scrambles to stay afloat, Mackenzie’s absence doesn’t go unnoticed—and it leaves people questioning her commitment.

Could her personal stress over Levi’s desire to meet Dean be clouding her judgment? Or is Mackenzie starting to lose interest in both her work and relationship altogether?

As always in Home and Away, every decision carries consequences. With Abigail stepping back, Irene stepping forward, and Mackenzie stepping away, the coming days in Summer Bay promise emotional growth, revelations, and some much-needed truth-telling.

Will love survive the test of space and honesty? Can Irene find balance in a world without routine? And will Mackenzie face the music before it’s too late?

Stay tuned to find out.
