Irene gets annoyed when Leah is late for their morning walk, as she’s keen to stick to a regular routine. John asks Leah why Irene is suddenly ignoring him, but she has no idea why Irene is acting like this. Dana also tries to get to the bottom of the strange situation.
John tries to ask Dana how Irene is, but she stays loyal by not giving too much away. Dana sees how much John is struggling with Irene’s stance, but struggles to know how to help as her behaviour remains a mystery.
Later, Dana meddles by getting John and Irene in the same room together, but it gets off to a rocky start.
Meanwhile, Cash is reluctant to apply for a promotion even though Rose is leaving. He shares his reasons with Eden, explaining that he doesn’t want anything to come between them again. Eden dismisses this and reminds Cash that she fell in love with a leader. It’s enough to convince Cash to get his career back on the right track.
Elsewhere, Abigail settles into her new job at Salt.
Next week on Home and Away, tension simmers in Summer Bay as unresolved emotions and secret motivations come to a head. Irene’s frosty behaviour sparks confusion among her friends, Cash faces a pivotal career decision, and Abigail starts to find her footing in a new chapter.
Irene’s Silence Sends Shockwaves
It’s clear that Irene’s commitment to structure is still deeply rooted in the stability she found during her time in rehab. So, when Leah shows up late for their morning walk, Irene is visibly irritated. Her desire to maintain a strict routine appears to be about more than just staying active—it’s her way of holding on to the progress she’s made. But when John becomes the latest target of her silence, the situation takes a puzzling turn.
John, confused and clearly hurt, turns to Leah to ask what’s going on between him and Irene, only to find out she’s just as in the dark. Dana, sensing John’s pain, tries to find a way to help but finds herself torn. Although she sees how deeply Irene’s behaviour is affecting John, she chooses loyalty, refusing to divulge much about how Irene’s really doing.
John’s distress only grows as he’s left on the outside, unsure why Irene has turned so cold. Dana’s discomfort increases as she realises that simply staying neutral might no longer be enough.
Dana Plays Mediator – With Mixed Results
Trying to help in her own way, Dana takes matters into her own hands and engineers a situation to get John and Irene in the same room. But if she was hoping for a warm reunion or a heart-to-heart, she’s sorely mistaken. The tension is thick, and whatever unresolved feelings Irene is holding onto quickly bubble to the surface.
Although Dana’s intervention doesn’t immediately resolve anything, it may be the first step toward unearthing what’s really been going on with Irene—and why she’s so determined to keep John at a distance.
Could Irene’s silence be rooted in guilt, regret, or something deeper she hasn’t shared with anyone yet?
Cash Fears History Will Repeat Itself
Meanwhile, Cash is facing an entirely different kind of dilemma. With Rose preparing to leave, a promotion opportunity opens up—but Cash is hesitant. Despite his qualifications and experience, something is holding him back. The reason? His relationship with Eden.
Cash confides in Eden, admitting that he’s worried a career move might create distance between them again. Their past isn’t without its share of heartache, and he doesn’t want ambition to come at the expense of love.
But Eden isn’t having any of it. In a supportive but firm conversation, she reminds him that leadership is a part of who he is—and it’s exactly what she admires about him. She urges him not to let fear dictate his future and assures him that their relationship is strong enough to survive whatever changes may come.
Her words strike a chord, and by the end of the conversation, it looks like Cash might finally be ready to embrace his potential and step back into a leadership role.
Abigail Turns a New Page
Elsewhere in the Bay, Abigail is adjusting to her new job at Salt following her difficult decision to leave the board shop—and create some space from Mali. Although things have been rocky between them, her move to Salt signals a positive shift as she focuses on her own path for the first time in a while.
Though there are still challenges ahead for Abigail, including working under Mackenzie and dealing with the demands of hospitality, she’s finding confidence in her independence. And perhaps, with time, it’ll help her and Mali mend what’s been broken—if they’re both willing to meet halfway.
As Summer Bay continues to grapple with change and emotional fallout, friendships are tested, relationships evolve, and personal growth becomes the theme of the week. Don’t miss these moving episodes as the residents of Home and Away navigate difficult truths and brave new beginnings.
