Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger returns to filming after break

Lynne McGranger, who starred in Home and Away, has resumed filming after a brief hiatus from the show.

The Australian soap opera star, who plays Irene Roberts, took a leave of absence in May to tour with her production of The Grandparents Club.

McGranger posted a picture of herself with co-stars Ada Nicodemou and Shane Withington, who play Leah Patterson and John Palmer, respectively, on Instagram to announce that she has returned to the set to continue filming after nearly four months on tour.

I’m so glad to be back among these crazy people! The trio was shown in a car on the shoot. “@adanicodemou @shanewithingtonactor @homeandaway #backinthebay,” she captioned the photo.

Many people expressed their happiness in the comments section upon McGranger’s return. Emily Symons, co-star of the soap opera who plays Marilyn Chambers, wrote: “Welcome back, Lynnie 🥳.”

One delighted fan said, “How lucky you all are to have each other and that you get on so well.” It’s delightful to see and must greatly contribute to the fuzziness of the boundaries between work and play. What fun! I hope your ties of camaraderie and unity last forever! Xx

McGranger, who made her stage debut as Irene in 1993, recently disclosed that she had surgery to remove her “toxic overactive” thyroid. The actress released a statement after the operation.

She writes, “It was a long time coming—we were incompatible, and quite frankly, I was tired.” “I want to express my gratitude to the wonderful staff at Mater Hospital North Sydney for making this significant life change so much simpler than it might have been.

I’m recovering nicely, and I haven’t missed that filthy thyroid at all thus far! The star said, “Stay tuned for Scar spam.” A picture of the actor recuperating in a hospital bed was also included in the message.
