OMG SHOCKING !!!Ailsa Stewart’s Stunning Rare TV Appearance Revealed!

Home and Away icon Judy Nunn is unrecognisable, 24 years after her character Ailsa Stewart was killed off.

Judy, 79, starred as the popular Australian soap character from the pilot episode in 1988 until 2000.

Early storylines included her marriage to Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), and post-natal depression that saw her attempt to smother their infant son Duncan.

We also learnt that Ailsa had a dark history – having spent time behind bars for murdering her abusive father prior to her arrival in Summer Bay.

One of her most memorable moments was when she had visions of dead adoptive daughter Bobby (Nicolle Dickson) emerging from her fridge door.

As she and Alf launched The Beachside Diner, she suffered a fatal heart attack and her ashes were scattered into the ocean.

Since leaving the soap, Judy has continued to release a number of novels, and recently appeared on Seven Network magazine programme The Morning Show to publicise new book Stories From The Otto Bin Empire.

Speaking to hosts Kylie Gillies and Sam Mac, she revealed that she used to spend time writing on set.

‘It sounds gorgeous, doesn’t it?’ she joked.

‘When, for instance, we’re burying somebody or when were marrying somebody…if you’re one of the general collectives, you’ve got to smile and nod a lot and at the funeral you’ve got to cry a lot but basically you’re an extra.

‘Sitting around I found that very boring so that’s when I’d write a book.’

Prior to finding her fame in Home and Away, she released her first children’s publication – The Riddle of the Trumpalar, in 1981.

She also had roles in Prisoner: Cell Block H and Sons and Daughters, before writing scripts for Neighbours during its first year on air.

Judy reprised her Ailsa role briefly between 2002 and 2003, when she reappeared as vision in Alf’s mind during a tragic brain tumour storyline.

He initially refused to have the tumour removed for fears of never seeing his beloved wife again, though after collapsing on the beach she dealt him a heartbreaking look into the future and he decided to seek medical attention.
