SEAL Team, Clarice Could Move From CBS to Paramount+ If Renewed

Bravo could be headed to Paramount+ for SEAL Team’s possible fifth season.

While the CBS military drama and new series Clarice are still awaiting word on their fates, sources say both shows could move to the Paramount+ (formerly CBS All Access) streaming service if renewed.

CBS has not commented on the potential move, but TVLine has heard that SEAL Team will air the first few episodes of Season 5 on CBS before moving to Paramount+. Meanwhile, Clarice will move to Paramount+ for its entire second year.

The potential moves reflect, among other things, ViacomCBS’s nationwide push to deliver content in the best possible landing spots — as it recently did with Halo (which moved from Showtime to Paramount+) and a new adaptation of Man Who Fell to Earth (which moved from CBS All Access to Showtime) — and limited storage space at CBS (which is adding new versions of CSI and NCIS for the 2021-22 season).

Paramount+ is also aiming to beef up its original content slate.

For its May 13 broadcast, SEAL Team Season 4 averaged nearly four million viewers and was just 0.5 percent off the demo (in Live + Same Day numbers)—down 20 and 27 percent from Season 3 numbers. Of the 14 original series that CBS aired this season, the series ranked 10th in the demo (ahead of Bull, All Rise, S.W.A.T., and Clarice) and 13th in viewership (ahead of only Clarice).

Factoring in DVR reruns and other factors, both SEAL Team and Clarice drew more than 6.3 million viewers each week.
