A STOMACH-churning Casualty scene left viewers claiming the show ‘upped the ick factor’.
The first half of Saturday’s double bill featured a patient named Nate Brown (Anthony Lewis), who had fishing hooks caught in his leg.
Nicole (Sammy T. Davis) and Ngozi (Adesuwa Oni) worked diligently to remove them.
However, fans were taken aback as they watched the moment play out.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fan wrote: “Casualty has upped the ick factor today. Fish hooks…#Casualty.”
Another added: “Perhaps popcorn wasn’t the best idea watching a man with hooks inside his leg getting pulled out….”
A third shared: “Oooh those hooks #Casualty”, adding the “vomiting face emoji”.
Meanwhile, Anthony Lewis who played Nate is no stranger to viewers’ screens.
The star previously appeared on Emmerdale, playing Marc Reynolds from 1999 to 2002, and for a brief stint in 2007.
During his time in the village, Marc dated Donna Windsor before moving on to Eve Birch.
A major storyline saw Marc run over his teacher after a boozy night out – and being sent to prison.
Away from appearing on-camera, fans might also likely recognise Anthony from his voice.
This includes work as a continuity announcer for the Beeb, including BBC One and BBC Two.
Ahead of his Casualty appearance, Anthony wrote on X: “Watch out for a cheeky appearance in the first of tonight’s @BBCCasualty double bill.
“And for some of you, I may even be introducing it…. #thiskeepshappening”.
Anthony has also appeared in shows including Holby City, Torchwood, Hollyoaks and A Touch of Frost.
His brother is Harry Potter actor Matthew Lewis, who starred as Neville Longbottom in all eight films.
